feels good to be back

arrrived last night dec. 27 from a three week holiday in the philippines. as soon i saw snow on the ground and the air is a bit chilly, it feels good to be back.

i went to bed at 12:30am. and i was up at 3:30am. it looks like that i have adjusted my sleeping and waking hours from the philippine time. i promised today that i'm not going to take a nap or anything that will close my eyes for awhile until at night time.

it was the same scenario during my first night back home. i went to bed early that time and then the roosters started shouting their joy that another day has come. i got up and pressumed that it was 4am. i was wrong. it was only 2:30am. that is the part that i will surely miss waking up in the morning, the sound of the morning rooster rather than the radio clock that tells you the weather and traffic report.

another thing that i'm going to surely miss, the fresh fishes, vegetables and fruits that me and my brother always buy during the early morning escapade to the market. grilled or fried tilapia fishes, a good dinner combination with steam rice.

you don't have to worry about gaining weight because burning calories was an easy task. you don't really have to go the gym to take off that extra weight. the heat will do all those things for you. if you take an early am. shower, you are not only drying the excess water from your body but also the sweat from the heat.

i really like our four season. weather changes every 3 mos. and it really feels good to be back.....

global warming

when i was young growing up here in my homeland, i count the days when x'mas is coming. as soon as last week of nov. arrives, the night temperature starts to drop and sleeping is so pleasant that you could really tell that x'mas is just around the corner. this temperature will last until the second week of feb. and then it will start to warm up again till summer and rainy season hits.

time has changed. we are now few days away from x'mas and the temperature is hot. with farm land around where i'm staying, the temperature is suppose to be cooler at night time. but that's not the case, the temp is in the mid 70's. it is just like sleeping in toronto with just an underwear or maybe nude without the convenience of an air condition.

i used to go and stay here in this area when i was young. as soon as night falls, it is just like nanaimo [british columbia]. it changed. the sound of motorcycles are normal now and buses along the highway are non-stop. population keeps increasing and poverty is just an everyday life.

it is sad but it is a reality....

PHILIPPINE TRIP

if i can really help it, this might be the last trip that i'll be making on this side of the world. the travelling alone was and will be for 22 hrs.

if you think traffic in downtown toronto is bad , wait until you are here. there are so much vehicles and people. smell of diesel engine is a daily and normal perfume in the air.

the good side of this trip, i was able to meet relatives and people that i haven't seen for awhile. i took pictures of food that i haven' t eaten in 30 year and to show it to people who likes to eat those kind of foods.

after my stay in san ildefonso (my brother 's place)for recuperating time, i went to the wife's sister's place. commuting is just terrible. i really don't know if i can stand another week.. commuting is a killer. luckily, i'll be checking in a hotel this fri. and from there will be back to san ildefonso to chill out until my departure.

the only mission that is left for me to do now the reunion this fri and sat. i'm really looking forward for this.

to the lonely travellers, have a safe trip to sf. and to daddy's princess, almost everyday i'm at tondo.

i'll keep in touch

hello everybody,

today is monday, dec. 3, my very first post. there will be a lot of bloggers that i know who will be watching on the side. i will be getting e-mail eventually if my blog is falling behind just like that princess who got stuck in the sand of sibbald point. luckily, due to the recent weather we are having, she was able to untangled herself from the deep october sand .

on the serious note, this space will keep everybody updated on my upcoming three weeks adventure back home. hopefully, i could fill in lots of bits and pieces of news during my temporary stay. i'll try to share pictures that i hope will be an interest.

i'll be in touch......
